Garden Club is back!
The format is different, but the smiles and rewards are not! This year, the sessions are held on Wednesdays (mornings or afternoons) with the assistance of the Community Day Services staff. Groups are small and self-contained. Horticultural therapist Carol Busam leads sessions every other week; on alternate weeks, volunteers lead garden-related activities.
The residents/CDS clients carefully placed and planted vegetables, herbs, berries, green plants, and flowering plants in June. Weeding and watering will be carried out each Wednesday by our enthusiastic gardeners in anticipation of the harvest. Supplementary garden activities include hunting for “worms,” assembling a floral arrangement, creating garden potpourri, stringing a garden bead necklace, and participating in an interactive garden story.
